         The main purpose of the talk is to express the idea of relating senses to objects and spaces toward a consciousness allowing greater insight into art, object, form and spaces. This nation follows the gesture of sketching, of laying and repeating line to bring about a deeper appreciation of those lines, and of the object/subject being drawn.

           At first, he was showing his art craft, he was so affectionate in his spectrum of bowls which are collected by him. From the beginning of the talk, actually I not really understand what he try to tell us, because it’s was too bewildering for me, maybe I am not really have a good senses in art or maybe the way he delivered the messages were not clear enough. The bowls that he was collected were made with different types of materials which are more in metal, wood and those with those recycled materials like plastic plate. He did a lot of failure and experiment in his whole process of in his art pieces. And he think all these will be a share of his process of exploration of the sense of the art. After he explained his series of his bowls collections, I started to understand actually he was trying to make us more understanding about the objects and arts, and further on to spaces and forms. One statement that he told in the speech when he was telling his collections of bowls that make me feel interesting was “From far you may see a herd of cow are with different texture. Like we all human, but different faces.” According what he said, that I know he is the guy that always try hard on the process of the work and the final result, even though he out of ideas, but still he trying his best to do about it.

         After talking about his collections of bowls, he started to show us his another masterpiece collections which are his paintings. The main purpose that he trying to explain to us was sense of design and also how he originate a deeper meaning from every technical skills that the painting showing. By knowing his thought and appreciation of the objects and art. Besides that, he said a good point that really made me feel upsurge in the whole talk was small details will brings us to a several satisfaction and appreciation towards it that sometimes we are very difficult to explain or even unexplainable.

          Next talk he was talking about his another work and how he designing a space of a museum which is Museum MSAB Lembing. Through the introduce of his work, I know that he is the guy that not really like to follow the rules or does not have any rules on how to design a thing, he always trying to design the thing by his own feelings and though which can bringing him pleasure. One of the design that I love the most because I feel it is special is he trying to focus on the medal, so that he was using transparent display glass to display.

He also got introduced one of his work which is Silalima located in Kuantan. The Silalima is a adaptive reuse of a residential area converted into one public accommodation for other to book for a pleasant stay. He was using simplicity space planning and materials. He also using a pond to make it as hierarchy of the elements in the entrance. He mentioned that pond in a very ludicrously way, “I just want a pond, if you want a car porch please find for others…..” Once he said this, all of us burst into laughter.

        In the nutshell, I feel that the I feel that Mr. Hatta is a very humour guy, although what his tried to delivered at first was not really about architecture, it was more like artist or maybe a sculptor, but after went through until the end of the talk, I understand that nothing is perfect in this world or in life, it’s depend on how you see the thing, if you think it is perfect, then it is, if you think it is not, then it’s not. Like he just pants his work and stops it if he feels like it’s is right. By the way, this talk make me have different point of view in architecture and also in design. “Design is an attitude.”
