I enjoy the presentation done by Atelier DIA ACQUIRE that presented by Mohd. Hatta Ismail,giving out his ideas 

and thoughts about spaces quality and his personal thoughts about art, object space and form. He got my 

attention when he start to talk about his abstract and conceptual ideas because of a big fan of abstract 

creation. Hatta is a designer and a conceptualist that talks about his passion for exploring deeper about the 

relationship of architecture and art. He focus his art works on the expression of colour and texture surface, and 

also the functions of object that inspire him and challenge him to create. 

Hatta start his presentation talk with talking about abstract drawing, he talk about how his drawing start with the first line is drawn that slowly create an abstract that have deep meaning. He does explore different ways to express his ideas too. He mention he did put his own abstract drawing on on of his design which is Muzium Sultan Abu Bakar, putting abstract into spaces and because he believe the abstract design will speak and explain itself.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

He mention about a lot of bows that he made, the different texture he created and colour he choose  express 

himself and his thoughts, and to study the surface and material of his abstract art. He talks about how to handle 

materials when creating and that is when he show that he use a normal rotan basket and pour concrete to cast 

and create a very special texture by an ordinary object that we can find it everywhere. That really open up my 

mind and inspire me to see art start by little things around me and while he showing his casting it gave me the

After talking about the abstract works, he start to talk about his personal projects. He talk bout his design 

approach of the area that focuses on which is contemporary to modern design of of ‘timeless’ space with an 

eclectic approach in relation to nature and environment with well orchestrated space. The talk about his work on Muzium Sultan Abu Bakar, Silalima House and NR Next House which having his applying his design idea that have 

his design strong identity. During his talk in he show some photos that can see how important he use natural light 

and relating interior with the natural environment.

It is definitely an eye-opening talk to see abstract art and architecture in a different perspective, this talk remind and challenge me once again to re-think, it is a very good reminder and an enjoyable talk that lean and understand the thoughts and idea the deliver from an architect.
